Steph: Oh God, arguing with Creationists. I hope I’m not that bad. :)
Heh don’t worry I’m talking on general terms, but the history of feminism does reads that way. Feelingscracy: The law is dictated by how a women feel at any given time. We really can’t function in a society were feelings are more important than facts, don’t you think?
Personally? Yes, I think we should empower boys to get educated. We should get social scientists to work out why boys don’t want to go to college and solve this, and until then we should use Title IX to create affirmative action for boys. I’m pretty sure this is one of those highly contentious feminist issues, though, and I’m certain there’s not a consensus on it.
Well personally I’m sure you do, call me when feminist start “walks for the boys” to help men to empower themselves. I will be waiting…sat.
Beyond that, well, I’m not sure. I mean, I’m glad I don’t have to marry an abuser, but I’m also glad that I can use condoms and I also will be glad when women and men are equally unlikely to be raped; they’re separate issues.
First rape is a crime, not unlike any other crime, rape will disappear when people stop stealing other people’s money, don’t kill them for a variety of reasons and so on. The best we can do is keep sending real rapists to jail and try not to paint a bulls eye on our skirts with a sign that says “rape victim in waiting”, the problem is that feminists best interest is in to have the biggest amount of women being raped so they keep their institutions open and have money and power, when they say you have a right to walk naked totally drunk on a bar and no be raped, they are saying you have the right to go to a bad neighborhood covered in gold, drunk and no get robbed, you might have all the rights and the laws and education and this people will go to jail but you cannot escape reality, and once raped you cannot be unraped. Given that this is the one of the most traumatic experience a person can have one can logically look at the typical rape scenario and AVOID IT LIKE HELL! Why asking for common sense has became synonyms of victim blaming is beyond me.
Edward Cullen? I am afraid we are no longer friends, Steph. VAMPIRES ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO SPARKLE.
The new species does ;) .
I don’t like Michael Cera or Jesse Eisenberg. I don’t know, they look like posers, cashing in on nerd looks but they don’t look like could have a decent debate about Romulans vs Vulcanoes or DC vs Marvel even though we had not been at war since the latest 90?s when you wouldn’t watch a movie from the rival house out of loyalty, those were the days…kids this day all “superhero lovers unite” get out of my kryptonite lawn! :p but JGL I adore him to bits he does looks like a nerd that could hold a nice heated debate about crap that is not really important on the real world, just the way I like it! :)
I’m straighter than a straight line but I can appreciate the women aesthetically.
